Just made the move to the smartphone and want to utilize it to log my fishing trips..weather, wind, temp.,etc and wondering if anyone has any suggestions on apps you use to log them? Any advice would be a welcome starting point. Thanks

I had downloaded one for my phone about a year ago. While playing with it, I found out that the information I put in would be available to other users. I couldn’t find a way to make it my own private journal so I stuck with my notebook.
On the other hand if there is a new one I would be interested. The one I was using had a function that I could enter every fish I caught and it would record all weather and gps information.

You might try Google Drive. Its a free ap that you set up to give you a spread sheet format. Everything saved on your I phone is also saved on your pc,laptop or other Mac device

Another option is Evernote. That app is available on most any platform. You can create documents and the will sync to all deceives.

I have not used Google Drive but will take a look sounds like it may be useful.

I ordered a bunch of notepads from rite in the rain.

Can use a pencil and write on this paper, even underwater.

I always log my catches, and this year will also log conditions etc…But, i’m not a fan of taking my phone out to tally another fish when it’s raining. So, these ‘rite in the rain’ books should be great.

I was looking at the Fish Tales app – a fishing journal that records info along with picture of fish caught. wondering if anyone has any experience with this app.

thanks for all the suggestions- I am logging trips on each to see what may work best for me.. I did just load the free myfishpattern.com and do like the ability to click on drop downs instead of writing everything. I am going to load the fishtails app and see how this compares. Appreciate all the input

I use the FishMobi Ap. Saw it on MN bound last year. The designer is from MN. I think it was a buck or two. You can turn the share feature off if you want. . Give you GPS pin, date time and you can enter every single condition. Wind water temp and so on. I use it ocasionally. When I remember. And when I Ice fish. Most of my journaling is done that night or the next day. Or on the way home.
