No Uncut Angling on the list?

    1. IDO

    2. Uncut Angling

    3. A salt water show.

In Fisherman. I guess. Not really in love with any of the #3 choices.

I have watched them all over the years. IDO is easily the top of the line! I like Doug Stange, because he is able to communicate well. The Lindners do a great job, but tend to get off of my favorite topics. James & Company do a fantastic job of up to the minute, latest happening topics that always seem appropriate for what I want to see.

Poll was to have 3 choices, anyone know how to edit this? I hit “edit” and it only gives cover page, not the radio button page…

John Gillespie kills me, they need to mute him (GET THE FRABILL!!), take away his collection of chef hats, and most importantly make him for the love of god quit bro hugging everyone reeling in a fish

Angling edge does a lot of takes in northern MN where the info is relevant to me. Pretty annoying when all shows are in the heart of Canada with prime waters, who can’t catch fish there? Really like uncut angling too but again, in Canada, but they are hilarious and really break down tactics well.

Where do you watch that? You have WFN?

Since you messed up I am listing the ones I watch in no particular order.

    Angling Edge – Lindners
    Good Fishing – Babe Winkelman
Great American Fisherman – Roland Martin
In Depth Outdoors – James Holst

Speaking of Steve Pennaz. I swore I saw him 2 springs ago at the Hidden Falls launch asking about how the fishing was. I found it odd. I am not sure it was him, but I have worked with him at The North American Outdoor Group…

Just like IDO. Available online. http://www.uncutangling.com/full-tv-episodes/

I don’t get why ALL our shows aren’t available online these days. I can assure you I watch IDO more (and get more exposure to the sponsors) cause I watch the shows multiple times at my discretion.

You may get exposed to them more, but I don’t think the marketing department trusts that.

Heck, I DVR IDO and FF through the ads. Its not like I need to see them over and over, I know who the sponsors are.

I would venture to guess that a majority of people would still rather watch on TV. I do, even though I technically could cast the videos to the TV and have the same experience. But I think the paradigm is changing. TV might be all on demand in the not too distant future.

Dave Mercer’s Facts of Fishing + IDO is about all I DVR and watch occasionally. Never been much of a “sit on the couch and WATCH fishing” type of guy

I love Gillespie, I crank the volume so the whole house can hear especially when he hollas “GET THE FRABILL”. His chef segments are so innovative, I think I’ve seen some other shows implementing them. Last but not least is the often offered and always appreciated “bro hug” good times. The only way too improve it would be having Gillespie and Holst guest on each others shows…now you’re talking GOLD, I’m telling you GOLD!

Don’t know if John would survive. James knows how to (and I assume enjoys) holding his own fish.

    I miss Tony Dean Outdoors.

I grew up watching Tony and his shows were entertaining and informative.

I tape them all and love watching… In no particular order… Gillespie, Linder’s Edge, IDO, Keyes Outdoors, In-Fisherman, Bucher, Butch Fuhrtman, Musky Hunter and more… then I switch over to Florida’s SunSports and watch their line up of saltwater shows!!!

To top it all off, I fish three to four times a week, when I am not in school…

    1. Musky Hunter
    2. Gillespie
    3. IDO – Best production qualities, but I don’t ice fish, so there are way too many ice fishing shows for my liking.

I miss Tony Dean too. That was about the only outdoors show we got on TV in north central Iowa when I was growing up. He had such a calm distinctive voice.

Count me in too. I liked his delivery. Quite a contrast to Gillespie. Let’s not forget Virgil Ward.

The funny thing is about the older programs is the most memorable parts for me was always the theme music. I still sing “From the lakes of northern Canada, to the gulf of Mexico. Wherever fish are biting, that’s where he’s going to go…”. I can’t remember Tony Dean’s theme song.

The theme songs to “Great American Fisherman” and “Lunkerville” are pretty catchy too. Which brings up an observation that of all 15 programs in the poll, Roland Martin, arguably the Grandaddy show of them all, didn’t receive any votes. I guess the southern bass thing doesn’t catch on here very well. That said I saw at least 3 of his programs this year where he was fishing in Minnesota for smallmouth and muskie.
