Not exactly a Christmas time video, but I know there’s been a number of questions about live rounds in fires, being dropped or crushed.
This 25 minute video covers all that and more.
Thought it was cool to see 100,000 rounds in a fire.

Ammo laying around going off in a fire will scare you but fireman still go in and do there job. Now if you have several loaded guns in there, your house is probably not going to make it.
Given cost and availability of ammo these days, that’s enough to make a guy cry. Think I could have made better use of it. Cool video though. Have always wondered how fast I should run in case of a fire.
Kind of plays the B.S. card on Rambo blowing up the city block torching the gun shop. But he did have a couple powder kegs.
Thanks BK that was a walk down memory lane for me. My cousin and i went into a house fire about 15 years ago where a guy horded ammo. We didn’t have this info and were very leery but still got the fire out unharmed.

Little basic physics right???
15 years ago, no previous research, at least that we were aware of, and faced with a situation needing action on a moments notice. Enough FFs get killed in fires without these added obstacles. You talk like fires are put out in a classroom with a physics proffesser. Take a walk on the real side buddy.
I don’t believe Blue comments were directed at you Castle.
Just in general about the video. I’ve always wondered if there would be enough energy to actually hurt a person and I think there could be if hey were close enough and unprotected (like a tee shirt).
As far as fire fighters go… I had an awakening when I bought a safe. The directions explained that attaching the (heavy) safe to a second or 3rd story isn’t the best idea when there’s a fire…more so when there are fire fighters in your house trying to put out a fire….then there’s the 1, 20 and 50 pound LP tanks that say “do not store inside”…not to mention all the other stuff that ends up in a house that should or shouldn’t be there.
Oh, by the way…hurry up and get in there to put that fire out. It’s your job!
Ummm no, not me. I’ll help the guy on the side of the road, stranded boater and so on. Where I can see and know the dangers.
God bless the Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters.
That’s a great video. Like many I’ve wondered about this stuff too. I’m a black powder buff, but I generally won’t have much more than a pound of powder. Its in a closet on an outside wall and not near any service boards or utilities.
Thanks for sharing that Brian.
In 21 years of fighting fires, bullets have never been an issue. As Brian said, there are many more things in a house or garage that poses more of a danger than bullets. That was a very good video watching it from my perspective.
