Amazing girlfriend bought me new limit creek rod to add to the other 4 but would like to set this one up with a lead core set up! She got me the runt so wondering what would be a good reel to put on it?

I own 5 of these daiwa sealine reels and ABSOLUTELY love them. I don’t run lead core tho, just mono and 10/4 fireline for long lining cranks. The drag is sturdy and counter is reliable and accurate. You can usually find them for around $100 and they are worth every penny. For pike and Wally trolling they are the best.

You want the 47 reel though for leadcore. I have two sealines I use for lead and I have also used the accudepth too. They both work fine but the sealine has a much better drag system than the accudepth. Either are fine fine for walleyes. If you are using them for salmon or Lakers then I would look for a better reel than accudepth.

After using Sealines for quite a while. Stepped up to Takotas. 300’s for braid, 500’s for lead. Found 600 to be more than a handful. The takotas are amazingly smooth and well built. But with that said, Sealines for the price will do everything you want them to. Just avoid Accudepths. The last day I fished Sealines we had a lights out trolling day, with lots of multiple hookups all day. At the end of it there were three reel parts laying on the floor of the boat. In fairness, equipment got a workout that day. Including a couple 10#+ “River Chickens” {Drum}. Boat looked like a war zone at the end of the day. Okumas looked good also when I was shopping, but I never got a chance to fish one.

If you plan on running the sufix 832 lead. Stick with the 27’s. I’ve got 10 colors of 12# spooled up on mine.

Looks like this thread has collected some dust. Question for anyone following this thread:

Looking at running various runs of Sufix 832 Advanced Lead Core 18# test on a Shimano Tekota LC reel.

    I’m stuck between a Tekota 500LC and 600LC.

In some instances I could be running 10 colours, with hopes a 30lb braid backing and 20′ long 17-20lb Sufix fluorocarbon leader. Has anyone attempted this scenario on a Tekota 500LC?

I know several guys that run this reel >>> leadcore reel

This is the post I was trying to quote. I run the 27’s for lead and the 17’s for mono. I have never had any problems running 10 colors on the 27’s.

That’s a lot of reeling running ten colors, the 550 would be similar to the 27 Sealine and the 600 is similiar to the 47. Line retrieval per crank are the same, so personal preference. if your salmon fishing I’d go with the 600LC, walleye the 500LC.
