    Hey–sure you all seen these infrared red heater–quart heater that they been selling around—wondering do they really work and if electric bill a lot higher if using? just wondering

    It’s a gimmick imo, they use current through a resistive element just like other types. They do radiate the energy more effectively than other styles of radiative heaters, but energy into the units translates directly to energy out.

    The only way to improve electrical to thermal % is using a heat pump.

    As earlier said you can only get so much out for what you put in, no magic wand here.

    What they do allow you to do is turn down your thermostat and only heat the room you are in, but you can do that with any heater.

    im assuming that you own a shanty/ icehoue? if that alone is not enough to keep you warm, I would suggest that you invest 20 dollars or so into a zippo re-fillable handwarmer, it runs off kerosene and hasn’t failed me once! tightlines!
