Navionics App

Hey guys! So I downloaded the avionics app so I’d have something I could use for contours on my phone, I was thinking of putting waypoints down but all the sudden I started seeing other peoples all over lakes. Does this happen automatically or can you make sure your spots aren’t public? Granted most of the ones I’ve seen are on community holes but I don’t really feel like giving up hard work on an app like this.

    Thanks for the input!

I have the same app in your setting there will be a box that you can check to turn off community edits but I am not entirely sure it turns your waypoints off to the public

If you set the way point as a “Favorite” by selecting”Add to Favorite” you are fine.

If you select “Edit Map/Generic Info/Fishing Spot” and add it that way, that will show up in Community Edits, provided you have chosen those settings to allow sharing. Anything you add under a category under edit map, gets shared.

Thanks Pug! I knew there had to be some way around it.

Just add to favorites and you are fine. Love my navionics for marking brush piles.

Might be a little rude, but when I see a brush pile I’ll mark it on my GPS and then break the sticks off the top of the ice.

If you know how to use the app, which I now do. I’d take it over an H2O or any handheld gps any day of the week. The contours are insane as well, LOVE IT.

I use the Marine&Lakes: USA (Android). Have you zoomed in all the way? It will add more contours as you zoom in, this is to make the zoomed out map readable and less cluttered. I don’t know that I have ever heard a complaint about detail, but some lakes are better than others. Could be that some areas/states are better than others.
