I’m planning on renting a few sno-mobiles the end of Feb, taking the FW with. I need to either get her a good pair of boots or she was looking at the Therma Cell foot warmers. Anyone have any experience with these? Are they worth the $$$? Seen them for $129, I could prolly get a decent pair of boots for her for that… Any suggestions for a good pair of boots in that price range? Thanks for any insight.

Is she going to be riding or driving? If she is driving and keeps her feet up in the foot wells she shouldn’t have too many issues with the cold since they are out of the wind and there is some heat from the motor down there. If you are 2-upping and she is riding it might be a different story.

I would think either way if she has some decent boots she should be fine. Even just being a passenger you are hanging on, leaning and somewhat active so that helps keep the blood flowing.

It isn’t like sitting over a hole fishing all day.

I used them for the deer opener this year. Even though it was frigid out my feet never got cold. I was a bit skeptical but after I read the reviews I gave them a shot and glad I did. She won’t be disappointed.

I was talking with a fella at Everts that was using his for the first time on a cold day a few weeks ago.

He said they were well worth the money.

    No first foot experience.

Thanks guys, she will be driving her own sled but she’s still worried about cold tootsies…. Guess I just have to see if I can find somewhere that has them in stock and check them out. I wonder how universal the sizing is, so if we do get them maybe I could use them for the bitter cold, long days on the ice too.

Do her feet actually get cold? If they do, the Thermacell Foot Warmers aren’t all that great. I get cold feet easily and they do help. But they are not the greatest thing since sliced bread.

First buy her decent boots. Heating gimmicks are worthless unless you start with decent boots.

I don’t ever remember my feet being cold riding my snowmobile. I don’t even need to wear warm boots when I ride. Between the engine heat and the cooling system runs under my feet. Warm boots and a good trail map showing the watering holes to warm up at.

Just an update, ended up getting her a pair of Baffin Impacts. They look pretty nice but we’ll see how the work for her, they still have liners that she needs to remember to dry out after every use… and they’re very light especially compared to the white bunny boots I wear, so I’m interested in how they work out…

Baffin are good boots you shouldn’t need any therma cells if she is driving. I’ve never had cold feet when driving a sled.

No, this was an either-or situation… But I’m sure these will work fine for her, especially when driving, we were looking more at the Therma-cells for out ice fishing or riding as a passenger on the atv or snowmobile.
