Ice conditions are improving on the Bay with ice moving in at many areas with much of the lower bay being totally covered with ice along with the southern bays having ice cover completely. The Bays of little Sturgeon Bay along with Rileys Bay and also the entire Bay of Sturgeon Bay having ice cover. I checked some areas in Sturgeon Bay the other day and having any where from 5 to 6 inches in most areas and with cold weather continuing ice conditions should only continue to get better each day. While there is still open water on areas of the bay extreme caution must be used when venturing on to any ice and watch wind directions that may be blowing ice sheets towards open water. Please be careful and check ice conditions and weather conditions carefully before heading out. Please be safe and good luck fishing.

    Paul,

I know conditions are likely to change, but do you think there’s a chance to get off Limekiln late next week? I have some time off and would love to head up…

Is there ever truck travel on Rileys or Sand Bay during the year? Never been there saw a show on Outdoors Bound and saw only 4 wheelers.

We drove out on Sand Bay a couple years ago with our shacks and stayed over night. Whitefish during the day and walleyes at dusk .We used the landing next to Sand Bay Resort. The last time we just stayed at the resort it was lot more comfortable and the prices weren’t bad. The walleyes seem to quit biting during dark on the bay.
