Best way to load a quad and otter on a trailer

I have a 10′ long by 55″ wide single place Floe snowmobile trailer. I want to load my Grizzly 700 along with my Otter Cabin on it at the same time. Would it be better for the trailer to have the weight of the Grizzly more in the front or back of the trailer? The otter probably weighs about 150 lbs.. Is it better to have more weight up front or in the back? This will help me determine if the Otter goes on first or last.. Tongue weight limit for the trailer is 150 lbs, when the grizzly is loaded as far forward on the trailer as possible, it’s pretty heavy to lift the tongue up, although I don’t think it’s 150 lbs…

You want to have weight on the tongue, how much weight do you have on the tongue if the otter is in front? I would just drive it on with everything connected if possible.

The “general” rule of thumb is to have 10% of the load weight and the weight on the tongue. So if the load was 1000# then you would want 100# to be tongue weight.

I really only have 2 options in order to get everything to fit on the trailer, either the quad goes all the way up front and the otter is in the back or Otter in front and quad in the back..Grizzly weighs about 650 lbs, Otter is about 150 lbs. I just don’t want to damage the trailer at all and also want to be safe when towing..

That trailer is barely long enough to hold both. You have no choice but to put the quad on first.

The Grizzly sits about 6′ from front to back of the tires and the Otter sits about 40″ sideways, so on a 10′ trailer there’s enough room, even more room when the Otter goes on first as I have a ramp that puts a stop to anything hanging out the back.

What I meant was that if its the trailer I’m thinking of, you have to load the quad first. Otherwise too much weight is on the rear of the trailer.

Quad on the front, but as far back as possible…

I have a Suzuki 750 and I always load it in front with my Otter in the rear. My Otter is just the Cottage though. But everything seems to ride real good that way.

Do you find it very heavy to lift the trailer up onto your vehicles hitch ball with the quad loaded so far up front? I just don’t want my trailer’s tongue to get bent from so much weight up front..

if worse comes to worse, a couple sand bags on the back along the sides might help
