Looking to try something new for this weekend, I fished the lake a couple years back and did great off farmers beach. I have not been back sence the lake was dredged. Anybody fishing there this weekend?

I won’t be there this weekend because it’s shotgun deer season, but I can tell you that no one really fishes the big lake much at all in the winter scince the little lake was dredged. Best bet in the past few years has been to go out of McIntosh park boat landing and drill a bunch of holes in 8 to 12 feet of water and keep moving till you find active fish.

Just be careful. I talked to the DNR officer when I got back for redwing and he said the ice is still thin. Few people have gone thru.

I fished it on 11-29 and caught some yellows. The ice was 4″ on Farmers beach, a bit more on the little lake. Many people fish the Big lake as they do the Little lake. I catch bigger yellows and more walleyes on the Big lake than on the Little lake. Plus the local guide on Clear lake just posted if you are fishing more than 8 fow you are fishing to deep. Key to the yellows is drill a bunch of holes and hop around to find them. Hope this helps, good luck.
