I was sitting in the deer stand this morning and a helicopter flew over with a huge net looking like thing hanging from the bottom if it. It was about 50-75 feet in diameter. Has anyone seen this before, or does anyone know what this would have been? They were flying back and forth over our hunting land for about 30 mins. I have never seen anything like it before.
did you see &/or record the numbers off the Chopper. You could report to Sheriff or FAA and find out what they were doing?
Assume could be DNR, but maybe the Tribes or PETA? 
Did it look like a basket? Could have been a fire somewhere.

Low flying helicopter carrying a 75 foot net… obviously there is an elephant on the loose.
This is what it looked like. Found a picture online. I called the sheriff and they said they are doing a geophysical survey. It sure was a weird feeling having this fly over while deer hunting.
I read where PETA has drones to harrass hunters so your lucky they didn’t snatch you up.
Sasquatch sighting in your area, don’t believe what the sheriff is saying. 
I believe that is a mining company doing wide sweeps of land looking for signs of metals. I think that is a magnetometer that can detect ore deposits. There was a mining company drilling near our land in Michigan and those were flying all over the area. We visited the crew and they told us that it was a high tech and sensitive device that they use to try and identify areas of interest.
I saw one of those last summer in se MN. Had to pull over to take a pic. Not sure if I still have it on camera.

They were probably watching you because you looked suspicious, but then realized that you weren’t all that interesting so they moved on to find something that wasn’t so boring. Don’t take it personally.
