…..on Thanksgiving night. Right here in the neighborhood too. Sounds like a challenge so I may have to go get the pipes out and dig in the far reaches of a secret location for the big ones. The cops would love it I’m sure.

Smart [censored]….all those candles contribute to global warming. lol

They are coming from further up 14th street towards JM. At first I though we had another shooting in progress, lol. I could just see a couple of the higher shots so it had to be a block of tubes, maybe a 16 shot by the number of pops it made. Its a nice night for BOOM, though.

This last 4th of July the neighbors where getting pretty rowdy a couple days early. I stepped out back and let a 6in salute fly…. Needless to say the whole neighborhood was silent the rest of the night.

Yes sir, that was a salute. Now if’n ya don’t mind…..hand me that book of matches.

Been there Jon. Love it too. Ever had a pipe fall over just before the launch charge went off? I’ve got some experience with that too. I bury them now.

I always dig a hole for them or use wooden racks that the pipes/tubes fit in and then they have metal eyes on each corner and pound rods into the ground a couple ft. For smaller artillery shells I use milk crates filled with tubes.

Maybe they are relocating the crows again.

Maybe, but doubtful, Chirp. I have my own re-location methods. From the tree to the garbage can in a single pfft.

John. I have access to this big stuff if I want it but its too hard to work with in town. Fun though. We dig all the pipes in now after a couple wild ones that got away but didn’t do any damage.

Self diagnosed addict here. Suppose the 4th ish, maybe even New Years, is a better time. But Turkey day …….or a tuesday is ample justification as well Outside of the the 4th ish though, probably best bust them out on some open space outside of population centers. The authorities, wether they actually care or not, do have to respond to complaint calls. For sure, no matter where or when, proper sight spacing and securing of either the tubes or cakes should be the utmost priority. 70 ft per every inch of tube diameter distance from the audience and structures….if NO wind should be adhered to. Burying and/or racking the shells or duct taping/ adhesiving the cakes……is a must. This is cheap crap made in China after all and [censored] does go wrong. Play it smart. Play it safe. The more we do, the more chance we can get the better stuff legalized and won’t have to only legally light sparklers and fountains……

I use a combination of 4″ pipes in a 5 gallon pals filled with sand, a couple of 4″ steel pipes with square bases. The smaller 1.75-3″ mortars, I use wood boxes with heavy plastic pipes. I cant remember the name of the plastic pipe though. The neighbor will shoot at some tanarite, which makes a nice loud bang. I will then send up (2) 4″ salutes, one a couple seconds after the other and that usually gets their attention.
