I figured that some good advise could be gathered by my outdoor comrads on a good pair of lightweight long underwear. I’d like to have your thoughts on a reasonable priced pair.TIA

I have had a pair of Redram everyday underwear, and they have served me pretty well. Very light weight merino wool. Don’t know the cost but they keep me dry if I sweat it up a little bit if I wear at work, and haven’t been cold yet wearing them under some cheaper winter overalls yet.

Pantyhose/tights. Laugh if you want to but they keep you warm, wick the sweat away, and are cheap as hell. I wear them all winter working/fishing. If it gets minus 0 them wear them under long johns and still not bulky like wearing bibs

And for the weight challenged like me, Spanx! Careful, your new figure might bring unwanted advances on the ice.

I’ve heard this before, REALLY. I would think thigh highs would be easier to put on, easier for the bathroom, and a lot more sexy. I’ve got Under Armor, a lot of money. There’s stuff cheaper out there and just as good IMO.

I own a few sets in differnet weights, as I work in the cold much of the winter and also fish as much as possible. I would recommend any of the tech silk types, but last year, Cabelas had a few sales on their MTP thermal underwear, in all the weights. I stocked up on 2 each of silk and medium weight for 50% off. They work great, and wick moisture away well.
I saw Cabelas Black Friday ad, and it’s advertised for 50% off again. At that price, it’s much cheaper than UnderArmour, so you can get 2 sets for cheaper than 1 set of UA .

Wickers is a made in the USA brand that is top quality and less expensive than UA. Sign up for their email ads and they have 20% off sales, etc. quite often.

Farm and Fleet has some nice poly propelene in 3 different weights and the price is right. I wear mine with polartecs over them and I really like them.

I know some people hate wool but a good lightweight merino is awesome. Not exactly cheap but well worth the cost. Light, breathable, excellent at wicking moisture and doesn’t get that funky odor that many polyesters do.
