Yea, pretty sure it wasn’t a sunnie, but then it could have been a union peckerwood.

I saw two varieties of woodies on the deer stand along with a sapsucker and tons of chickadees and nuthatches. Craziest thing going up to the stand one afternoon was finding literally dozens of robins…had to be late migraters.

I went thru a couple pounds of black sunflower seed this deer season feeding the chickadees. The stand has a railing cap on it and I put rows of the seed on the cap. Chickadees enjoy the seed-treat. My being there doesn’t seem to bother them in the least. Fun stuff.

my dad use to bring bread out to his stand to feed the birds………no wonder he never shot any deer. one of my boys shot a deer. amazing how that gut pile brings in the birds.

I uy my sunflower seeds by the 40 or 50 lb bag. wish I could get that farm discount.

Around here the crows have to compete with coyotes. Gut a deer in the morning, no sign of the pile by dusk.

I expected to see them same results after he shot that deer with the timberwolves up north. we had wolf tracks in out area. actually within yards of our stand. they must only like the prime deer meat.

Why so much hating on unions? We have a pair that comes into our feeders almost daily. They are fun to watch

There’s no union hating….just Glenn is in the boilermakers and we like giving him crap. He takes it well…..and gives it out better.

I can live with that. I haven’t heard the term “peckerwood” since I was called that while working on the north side of Minneapolis

I have nothing but respect for Glenn. He and I have shared time on several different boards like this and we have met in person. This banter between us is nothing but fun. The only problem I have with Glenn is that he lives too far away. I’ve enjoyed every minute I’ve had the opportunity to chat with him.
