Crazy Weather in Illinois

I woke up this morning to almost 70 degree temps and climbed up in the treestand. By 9am the 20in diameter elm I have my ladder stand starts to sway from the wind. By 9:30 I climbed down as a couple trees toppled. Soon after the rain began and the wind increased that you couldn’t see out of the windows of the house. Didn’t think too much of it until the reports of tornados in the area and a couple towns got leveled. We have a weather radio and the alerts never went off. Who would have thought to worry about tornados at this time of year.

I ran into town with a chainsaw to help clear the streets and was first amazed at everyone helping out, but was also shocked at how many cars were rubber necking.

I need to watch the news more.

After seeing your photo, boat control in the wind up here seems so much less important.

I was in the garage working on the car and heard on the radio that the Bears game was delayed due to tornado warnings. Pretty unusual for November!
Glad you’re safe and I’m sure the members of your community are thankful for your help!
