Pretty cool how they go about doing the demo work on something like that.
Awesome! so why do they push it into the water? Is it easier for them to remove it from the bottom of the river vs being elevated on the pilings?
I would assume it just safer overall. Seen a few bridges go down over the years and all went right into the river.

I do demolition always safer on the ground
I do fishing and it’s always safer in a boat. 
The rest of the bridge they cut down and hauled away on barges, it didn’t fall in the river. It is cut up and gone now. The new bridge will open all 4 lanes on Saturday.
Will they remove the pillers ?
