I’ve been using Sturdiwheat’s Cajun fish coating for a few years now. According to the folk in Red Wing, the Original flavored fish coating outsells the Cajun.

I’ve had both and the Cajun is far better then the Original IMO. What I feel is the problem is the name “Cajun”. People relate the word “Cajun” to hot a spicy. It’s does have a hint of spice to it, but I certainly wouldn’t put it in a hot and spicy category. The favorite Mother and myself cleaned up 6 walleyes last night and as we all know most older folks don’t care for spicy foods. (so I’ve heard…lol)

So, to those of you that have tried Sturdiwheats Cajun Fish Coating…give me a hand on recommend a name change that would better describe it.

I’m thinking they should change the name of the Original to “Classic” and the Cajun could be the new Original.

Next time I guess. I already ordered. I have been eating nothing but SW pancakes for a few years now. I’ll bet the fish batter is excellent. I gave BK credit for my sale today.

haven’t tried it, but turn cajun into homestyle and you may double your sales. I’m sure the original sales will take a dip.

Unfortunately the walleye guys wouldn’t go for it.

Thanks for the credit Suzuki. I would give you some fish bucks but I’m broke.

There’s a couple really good ideas up there.

Don’t be bagging on drill sergeants or one might throw you off the dock in March.

There are two kinds of people out there. Winners and losers and son you don’t look like a winner to me.

Wash that uniform you smell like a goat. Actually saying you smell like a goat is an insult to goats everywhere.

There are sharp knives and dull knives, you don’t even rate a butter knife.

Paying close attention to details doesn’t mean you wash cars for a living.

If you look good and work hard you might even get a female interested in you at some point. Naw that was a stretch.

A compass shows the cardinal directions and they have nothing to do with birds.

Being late is a virtue and I can tell you only have one virtue.

There is a right way and wrong way to do things and I can tell you don’t know how to do it either way.

There will come a time in your life when you have to make a decision. I hope I am not there when that comes to pass.

First you pull the pin and then you throw the grenade.

If the Lt gets us lost, your responsibility is to not make it worse.

I’ve got a few hundred more.

I’ve been making my own coating for a while now and although it has changed over the years, I have found that the end product improved 10 fold after simplifying the recipe. I now use no eggs, milk or anything on the meat; I simply sprinkle a garlic/pepper/salt seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and lemon pepper on the filets, pat the seasonings in on both sides and fry away. I place them on a few paper towels and let sit in the microwave until ready to serve, don’t run the microwave just let them sit in there and they don’t dry up, but the extra grease gets absorbed in the towel and they stay warm and delicious!

I completely misread into the idea of the original post, but after reading through it better and seeing G’s post I figured we could expand on that and call it “Simply the Best” fish coating.
