`Thanks to all those that have served or are currently serving. Currently have two young men from our neighborhood in military training (marine corp). Very proud of these guys.

Veteran’s Day is a fitting tribute to those who served for us all. Remember today, both the living and the departed.

Veteran’s Day (formerly Armistice Day) is a special day because so many of our allies also use it as a day to thank their own veterans. Many of whom served with our US veterans to keep so much of the world free.

I was priviledged to attend Remberence Day services in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom with my wife’s grandfather. He was a WWII vet and his father was a veteran of the Great War. It was a profound experience and somewhat haunting, especially to see the last few known surviving Northumbrian veterans of WWI, some wearing their uniforms as they joined the formation to salute the fallen.
