So what is the longest stretch of time you have gone without fishing? Did it cause any health issues?

I am serious about the issues. I took a project on in Colorado and have been here for a month and still have a couple weeks to go. I brought the 22/250 and plenty of rounds for coyote and prairie dogs. Thought that and month of shooting sports would keep me in check. Well, I’m as irritable as you can imagine and every time I drive pass a lake I get a high level of anxiety. I guess a person sees their truest passions once they are away from it for awhile. Well, back to shooting nails. ……

6 months while in Gitmo. Had to take up spear fishing, I just couldn’t make it any longer!

I’ve only managed to get out 2x in the past 3+ months and it’s taking a toll on me.

Good luck and I hope you get the opportunity soon.

I can if I have to, make it three weeks without being on the water or fishing without being…well, bitchy.

3 weeks and Blood pressure goes up, depression sets in, wine bottles accumulate, weight gain, moxies stuck to each other, stink baits not stink anymore etc etc..

I am working on a few months right now, and I am starting to feel it. I was deployed for the entire summer than come home and its hunting season which tides me over until ice hits.

6 months. After I had some surgery done in 2008. I was in more pain from not fishing, than from the surgery!! Had serious rod holding withdrawls!!

I am on one of the longest stretches as we speak. Havnt fished for two weeks since the last weekend of sturgeon and told the FW I would abstain till first ice and spend some time with her. Thank god for WFN.

18 months. I bought a license each year, but FW and I got caught up with getting our cabins in great shape for our guests and giving pontoon tours of the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage to our guests.

Next year!! (This used to be the Packer cheer)

In a bit of a dry spell myself currently Work/School/Family. The big picture takes precedence over fishing this fall for me. I new this time would be tough so I made sure towards end of summer I spent some serious time camping and fishing on the Mississippi and the great memories I had helps. About 1 month from now school wraps up and ice fishing starts and I get to shift a little back into “my time” mode. So in all it will be about 75 days for me, unintended as every time I plan a day to fish something seems to come up. I do have a great prospect in the job market in the form of an interview 1 week from Tuesday so all the hard work may finally pay off.
