I need a thermopile for my gas fireplace. Looks pretty standard so I am not going to try and match mfg and parts. Where can I go for such a thing? Tried local hardware with no luck. Home Depot or specialty appliance parts store?

    Thank you

Home depot for sure. Usually they have them by the waterheaters or air filters section.

Try Park Supply in Mpls 612.822.3180. You can sign up on their website as a contractor and get a discount.

My second stop due to distance and neighborhood. Thanks for the reminder though. I always forget the name of that place.

They have a location in white bear lake as well. Neighborhood is a little better.

I still think you would be better off in the long run, but… If you can make it work, do what you do… Just don’t screw up any warranties that might be left, by using the wrong parts…

No warrantys. Its a 15 year old built in fireplace. Now that I have studied it for a week It seems very simple. Thermocouple for the pilot and thermopile for the main flame. The only other component is the entire gas regulator. I am determined to fix it myself and surely save hundreds. Thanks again Czech. That web site you sent me paid off big time. Home Depot didn’t have the part in the store but the fireplace shop in Hastings does so I’m going to run over there.

When ya reinstall, you might want a little bit of red silicone around the insertion of the pile to cut down on the air turbulance once installed.

Thank you. What a nightmare this turned into today. I ran all over the place only to find the part highly overpriced at the fireplace store in Hastings. Called Dey and they weren’t much better. Ordered online to save money but now it wont be fixed for several more days. Thanks for tip on red silicone (fire stop) I noticed the hole the wires came through had it before but it was brittle and I broke it away.

They wanted $69 in Hastings. I found it online for $35. Home Depot had them online for $25 but were out of stock.

$25 – $35 should be the price for those type of generators… Might pay as much for the silicone…
