Fish Bucks – Use ’em or lose ’em!

    Just a heads up regarding the Fish Bucks you’ve been banking…

    In-Depth Outdoors will be releasing a new website platform, including the forum, in December and we want to give everyone that has a Fish Bucks balance set aside for classified ad purchases enough notice to avoid a “use ’em or lose ’em” scenario.

    Fish Bucks have no cash value, are not transferable and won’t be used on the new site. If you’ve got an item or two that needs to go up in the classifieds, don’t dawdle. The next 4 weeks will fly by.

    That is all. For now.

    We won’t have a classified section on the new site right away. When a classified system is added we’ll definitely have a way for members that post to earn free/discounted ads but it won’t be the fish bucks system we use now.

    What is BK going to do? Are you going to frame his fishbucks for him? Maybe print off a pile of them so he has something tangible to show for his many posts.

    I’m working on a spam to fish bucks conversion chart and subsequent pay-out. For BK only. I figure contributing to his eventual coronary is the least I can do.

    One feature that I really enjoy on this site is the Today’s Topics section where at a glance I can find some interesting topic to start off my IDO distraction from real life session. I hope the new platform retains this feature.

    first we learn we can’t really keep much the health care coverage that works fairly well for us regardless of whether we actually like it or not
    AND now we can’t keep fishbucks

    this could be the last straw … about enough to drive a guy

    I agree! Before The People’s life savings is wiped out by the whims of the forum management, shouldn’t we at least be able to trade the points in for a DISCOUNT on a hoodie?

    C’mon. It was hard work earing all those fish bucks. The should at least be converted into hoodie style points.

    The feature isn’t going anywhere. In fact we’ll be expanding on the functionality of it.

    I’ll gladly exchange my fish bucks for a good mobile experience. Being your roots are in Web design I have little doubt your new design will be mobile-optimized.

    You should know by now that when I get quiet… IDO’s working on “stuff” behind the scenes.

    We’re a week from moving into our new studio. Office space for 6 + 1200 square feet of shooting space with 15′ ceilings. The IDO production team is “most pleased” over this one.

    We’re 2 weeks away from the start of a new broadcast season.

    We’re 4 weeks away (+/-) from the release of a new website.

    We’re 1.5 weeks away from hiring at least one additional editor. Perhaps two, if I can find the right people.

    Throw in a 7 month old daughter and everything has been a blur of late. I will be back in fishing mode full-time as soon as I can walk on water. Bring on the ice!

    Yeah, I should add “almost died late Sept. after walking around for 2+ days with a burst appendix” to the list. That did throw me off my schedule more than a little. If the new website is a flop I’ll use the pain meds as my excuse.
