Was out trolling flicker shads and casting some Northland Paddletails(Electric Chicken color) on Sunday on the Chippewa River above Old Abe Lake for about 4 hours with out much luck. Managed to get 1 18.5″ walleye on a flicker shad(Gold) and caught this bass pitching paddletails in 5′ of water. By far the FATTEST bass I have ever caught.
Measured only 17″ but had a 16.5″ girth!!!!
Bet it went 4.5 lbs….released it so hopefully I can run into this guy when he hits 20+ inches!!
Never caught a bass with a forehead or backside like that! Felt like a wet sock reeling it in though, but still worth the trip!
