I’m sure he’d go anywhere at this point! Its a shame to see him not at full potential at the best time of his career.

You would not get a kings ransom out of the deal,I would at least make him available and see what you could get.

    maybe a 1st and two 2nds

Keep Gerhart, and use any draft picks to beef up the defense.

So you want them to trade a great player for couple maybe’s? That’s all they do is trade good players away! Peterson was one of there better picks. They need a coach that knows how to get it done. They need a Qb that doesn’t SUCK! I’m sorry I was hoping Minnesotans wouldn’t pay for the stadium and they moved. Then I would have to cheer for them anymore When there teams decisions just screw everything up.

It’s always going to take years to tell what you really get with one of these big trades. I don’t see a mega-player for mega-player trade happening for AP. The key is going to be in how the Vikes would use the draft picks.

The example that everyone is throwing out is Dallas dishing off Walker. What made this a great deal for Dallas was what they did with the draft picks over a series of years. Luck is obviously a major factor.

So if the Vikes deal Peterson and they pick up prime talent, it’ll look like a great deal. If they end up wasting picks on talent that never pans out, it’ll look like a terrible deal. I wouldn’t want to be the one making the call on who to pick with the draft choices.

It’s also even more complicated because a lot of times the draft picks get combined to move up, or get traded off for other players.

Take a look at AJ McCarron at Alabama. Anybody else watch what they did to Tennessee? A little Vol trash talk didn’t put AJ off his game much, I guess you can’t bame Tenn for trying though. So Alabama has now outscored their last 6 oppenets 246-26. Yikes.

So is McCarron the hottest QB ticket in the draft? Can he make the transition to the next level, or is he just riding high on Alabama’s combination of dominance in almost all other areas of the game? Glad I don’t have to make that call, because how the heck do you tell if he’d be worth a #1 pick or even trading up for if you had to? Lots of hotshot QBs have fallen apart at the pro level because they turned out to be one cog in a wheel rather than a driving engine.

I think the Vikes WOULD get a lot of picks for Peterson. What they do with them is another story.

If the Vikings organization had any gonads they would trade him.

You are looking at a team that is about to go through another rebuilding
Project, which means they are several years away from being even a pretender. They need to improve in too many other areas that requires draft picks, so there really is no need for Adrian to be here for the next few years when despite his obvious talents it does not help the team move forward.

He may have two maybe three more good years left, during those years the Vikings will still be rebuilding.

you just don’t have to pay for running back talent in the nfl anymore. there is so much depth at the position and the emphasis in the nfl is basically pass pass pass. they’d never get the value out of him.

Can anyone imagine how terrible we would be without AP. Only reason I can watch nowadays is to watch how many tackles he can break to bust through the holes that aren’t there.

Hes the only reason I watch the vikes right now. It was be pretty sad without him, but if we could refresh our team with some good trades Im for it. However once we move him we have a pretty big hole to fill.

Guess how many late rounders there are in the NFL ??? I am talking 5th and up rounds…. hint, there is LOTS (Tom Brady, 2000 Draft, 199th pick in the 6th round) No need to trade a 1st round pick that pans out away hastily… our D isn’t as bad as everyone thinks, problem is they play time wise about 3/4 of the game, instead of 1/2 the game… being tired and down and out all the time, wears a unit out We need a good QB, a couple more receivers and our D-Backs healthy. That and I think we need a new play caller, that is less predictable

Good draft for qb’s coming up next year. Keep him and hope he stays healthy. He is a monster but nobody will offer enough or high enough draft picks to make moving him seem worth it
