ESPN announcers can say anything the want. The Gophers just took it to Nebraska an both sides of the ball. The D was awesome and Neb was totally caught by the play calling of the Gophers offense.

    Signature win.

I love it! I grew up here in Nebraska and my dad was a huge Oklahoma fan (cause of Bud Grant) so I’m a big Ou fan. I tell husker fans how I see it and they get all ticked off. lol… I’ve told them Nebraska has been over rated since they fired Solich. I don’t see them becoming a powerhouse (like they think they are) again!

They are looking great! It’s been a while since we’ve been Bowl Eligible in October… Still feels strange coming out of the mouth. We’ve got Indiana next week who has also improved a lot. Hopefully we can get a win there on the road then 3 tests all in a row.

Penn State at home should be a thriller, I think they might upset Ohio State tonight. Then we have a BYE week to prepare for Wisconsin at home. Will this finally be the year we get the axe back? Then end the season with Michigan State.

Things could go great, things could go sour. Either way we’ve got a bowl and a great win for the Kill era. Gotta love the way the kids perform for him. They simply CAN’T not give everything they have for him. TCF has a new roar to it and it’s amazing. Nice to finally beat a ranked opponent!

I took my dad to the game, a native Nebraskan. Fantastic game!
The Gophers dominated. Was fun to see the fans rush the field
    Afterwards.

Not to burst your bubble, but Nebraska NEVER should have been ranked. And the Gophers played a great game

Last time Mn. beat Neb. was 1960. I was 10. Do I remember the game, No. Think I was bullhead fishing. First game I watched all year and it was great. Got to agree, Neb. was way over rated but still great to see Gophers win a game against a big name school.

Nebraska fan here. I’m actually kinda glad this happened. I’ve been hoping for Pelini to get ousted for about a year now. This may be the start of a skid that just might help make that happen. Rumor has it our QB was playing with 2 fractured toes, a banged up shoulder and a bum ankle. Which is totally ridiculous considering our two backups played better than him in the past 3 games. Good game, but we’ve been manhandled on the defensive front all year. It’s pathetic how bad our front 7 is.

ps. Your Tight End is still open.

I don’t see what the point is of bringing up that you think Nebraska was over ranked? Obviously, losing to an un-ranked team proved that. How come no one posted that Nebraska was overrated when they were leading 10-0???

The point is that the Gophers outplayed a brand-name program. The D heald the Huskers to 100 yards below average on the ground game. That’s nothing to do with Nebraska being overrated, that’s the Gophers playing superior D.

The offense was a little wide-eyed in the second half, but solid over all. Not only did the Gophs out play, they out coached. The play calling came through in 2 clutch situations, hiding a reciever on the left end and then the shifting QB sneak to get in for the TD was winning by coaching, plain and simple.

For me the biggest thing is that obviously the Gopher program BELIEVES again. In the Punky Brewster era, they would have folded like a suitcase after getting behind in the first half. But under Kill, they came out and played catch-up with a ranked opponent. That’s the confidence that hasn’t been there in years and years.

With or without him on the sideline, I’m declaring it right now: The Jerry Klll era has arrived.

This Badger fan was impressed by the line play of the Gophs. They blew the Huskers off the line regularly. Going to try to get to the Bank for this year’s game. Minnesota is looking good lately

Well stated Grouse,If they can maintain that intensity against Indiana they’ll have a good chance to get another win, three in a row in the conferance would look very good. This would lead to being mentioned a little more at a national level and would certainly help with recruiting. We’re obviously not talking Rose Bowl or anything but this was a huge win for this program regardless of the Husker’s decline.

Sad to say we Gopher fans like these small potatoes. Beat a real legit ranked team and I will jump back on the wagon instead of strolling by the side of the wagon.
