Guys. I’m trying to find an affordable full zip sweatshirt with hood. Not the thin ones, but the thermal lined/double layered ones. And it has to be available in tall sizes. I got a great one at Fleet Farm last year for about $15 but the zipper gave out. Works great for ice fishing etc, and at only $15 wasn’t a big deal to get fish slime on it. I know Carhartt has great ones, but I don’t really want to spend $60 or more. Seems like for $30 or $40 I should be able to find one. Any brands or stores you’d suggest? Haven’t found anything comparable this year at Fleet Farm.

Well, I found it for $15 last year at Fleet Farm. But I realize it’s a long shot. Figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.

Fleet or Sams club would be my suggestion. Especially Sams Club. They always have inexpensive brawny shirts and likely what you described.

I got my HD Carhartt in Highschool. Still using it today. 14+ years later.
Fits all categories but cost for you.
Look at it this way, you paid $15 for 1 year of use, I am at $4.29 per year cost currently.
It pays to buy quality in the long run, I say bite the bullet and dont look back.

Every year, the La Crosse Center has a tee shirt, sweats, jerseys, truck load sale. If you don’t care about obscure logos, this might be the deal for you. I’m not sure when but it seems to me they have it around deer hunting season.

Sears actually has a decent “Craftsman” series of work clothes. I got a quilt-lined sweatshirt like you’re describing for $19.99 about 2 years ago.

I can get ’em for you for about $25.00. I have wholesale accounts with a bunch of different suppliers for that stuff. Feel free to PM me and I can place an order for you.

I agree! I work as a commercial carpenter, typically outdoors all winter long no matter the temp, I can say I have tried all the various brands looking to save a few bucks and I swear by carhartt, it keeps you warm and it stands up to abuse. Yes its spendy but it lasts.just my 2 cents.

X3 on the carhart, I wear mine every day from Nov.1st to April 1st. After 3 years the ends of the sleeves show some wear but the rest is still in good shape. You won’t be disappointed.

Watch your local Cabelas or their website for good deals on thermal hoodies. They carry Carharts as well as their own brand which are very comparable. Clothing is one of the items that usually gets deeply discounted as there are huge margins on clothing. Two years ago, they were blowing out Cabelas brand thermal hoodies for 30 bucks and I snagged a couple. After two years of almost living in them, I can say theyre every bit as nice as my carharts. Im a tall guy as well and they have sizes for us. Im with ya on not being able to spend more than 50 bucks on a sweatshirt, no matter how nice. Things always go on sale.
