Things are going from bad to worse.

Ironic that the fans were taunting Backs and then applauding him when he got up.

Backstrom out? That’s exactly what we don’t need. Well we’re still in this one.

That sucks. I really like Harding but I fear that he can be very streaky.

Yup. I think he sprained his knee or reinjured his groin. We might be riding Hards for a while.

Well I like Harding too, but don’t think we can ride him for to long. Health maybe his downfall if we have to play him for an extended period of time.

He can be streaky, but when he is on his game he is good. Backs is struggling a little and I think he may have been playing slightly hurt. He did have an injury in the pre season that they down played.

I go to the Wild message board and it is laughable how people are calling for Yeo’s head. He’s got these guys playing at a high level. The Power play seems improved. He changed his system. I don’t know how much more a coach can do and how much more you can ask of him.

    Its 3 games.

I agree pug, but I think it has alot to do with the losing culture in the Twin Cities across the board.

You nailed it. There is a lot of self pity in this town when it comes to sports.

Funny how Yeo has the team prepared but everything is Gardys fault.

BTW, I’m not poking at anybody. It is just a general observation on how fans view things.

I think the players like his new system. We have had a lot more scoring chances it seems like, the players on the ice just can not seem to bury the puck, or the goalie makes an amazing save.

    Ah, a KCCO avatar. Nice!

There is obviously some work to be done, but to me the positive signs are far more glaring than the deficits. I am really happy with the PP. Now they need to be a little more stingy on the PK. Given a choice, I prefer a stingy PK.

As the years of losing roll on and on,people just get less inclined to watch or care.

I would hardly call that self pity

You are talking about the “fans” that drop out. I am talking about the fans that continue to support the teams.

Don’t forget? It happened just a few days ago. I’m old, but not that old.

Philly completely stunk last year. I don’t necessarily blame the coach though, but you can’t fire your entire roster as they say. They needed a change. Although it is curious that they didn’t do it over the summer.

Philly should get rid of Paul Holmgren and his staff. There are a lot of great former Flyers playing around the league. And the Flyers have not drafted or traded for prospects like the Hawks and Penguins have to fill in when guys leave via trade and free agency. That organization is a mess.

Boy that last part sounds awfully familiar about a certain local hockey team from a few years ago.

Good first win of the season for the Wild. Cooke played well, Harding did what was needed. Stoner actually played pretty well too. GO WILD.

Hopefully they got the monkey off their back and start scoring 4-5 goals on many nights by finishing plays. They could have won 4-1 tonight.

The player I am most impressed with is Nino. He creates space for himself despite players being draped on him. He’s going to be a stud. Great move by Fletcher so far.

Nice win! I think the Matt Cooke we are used to is in the past and he has kind of redefined himself.

I really like the speed and puck control that Granuland has had so far this season. Now if we the second line could get rid of the dead weight that Heatly is we would be looking good. Heatly last night reminded me of the way Gaborik played the last couple of years he was here, only playing the offensive side and only when the puck was near him.

You must have missed the play where Heater broke up a play back checking.

Yeah, he is slow, I get that. Yeah, $5 for a guy who will only score 20-25 goals is too much. But I think he’s going to be a part in any success we have and then we can dump him and his salary at the end of the year.

Don’t jinx him. Its just 4 games in, but you can tell he plays a different game now. And thank God we finally have a guy who can score those gritty goals.

Nice job by the Wild last night to get a win. Also good to see some of these younger players looking good and at the level where they can produce. Dumba, Granlund, etc, after years of questionable draft choices that didn’t produce, hopefully the Wild have hit paydirt with some.

OK, now to a tangent. What is up with all the Winnipeg fans at these games? I mean, the X last night was about half Jets sweaters. Has anybody else noticed this? I’m assuming this is not a situation like the Wankees where there are a bunch of closeted bandwagon fans that come out every time the Yankees are in town.

Are there really that many Winnipegers living here in MN and coming out of the woodwork for games?

Or are they just streaming across the boarder for every game? I can’t believe there’s that many people driving 400 miles down from Canadaland for a Thursday hockey game? Cripes, the boarder crossing up there must look like an LA freeway at rush hour.

Where are all these Jets fans coming from? It’s freaking wierd.

Maybe they take a charter bus. And everyone knows Canada doesn’t work on Fridays.

I believe they had over 30 to charter buses and many who traveled on their own.

The Cook deal is turning out to be the deal of the year. Had no idea he was that good of a player.

I’m more optimistic than I have been in quite some time. I know he’s not the everyday guy but I really like Harding in the nets and would like to see more of him.

Whoa, I like Cooker, but lets not get crazy. Clutterbuck for Niederreiter may end up being the deal of the year.

I am a huge Backstrom fan, but he sort of struggled the 1st 3 games. I hope they ride Hards for a while. He’s one of the best back ups around.

Wheeler, Stuart and Byfuglien all from MN. I know Stuart had at least 12 tickets to last nights game. Sure that had something to do with the fans. Like seeing that young 2nd unit power play too.

It’s funny how different he looks when he’s on your team. I do agree he’s cleaned up his game but he’s still the garbage man and aggravator.

He replaces Clutterbuck as the aggravator and a much better hockey player to boot.
