With the flood, stay off the RIVER fast current, drought, low water pool 14, I just lost the desire to Launch! How do I get it back? Have a 2011 rig. HELP!

Just launch your boat Grumpy and start where you left off. Maybe try the frame of mind of scout and guide looking for a new place to fish, a different spot you’ve never tried before but though about. But the first thing you have to do is put the boat in the water and go from there. Maybe try one of those spots that you’ve always said that there’s no fish there. Good luck

I’ll be down in a few hours to pick up the boat. I’ll bring it up here and get the juju back in it. I’ll return it, say, June of 2014?

I find that making a day of exploring often ignites the passion again. I go through ruts of snooze-fest same-old-same-old and lose interest or drive. So when I get time that I can just go check out a new area, look at different structure, or anything out of the box, that triggers it for me

Seems to me as i get older its less run and gun fishing and more just hanging out enjoying the day. Nothing wrong with just drifting around chatting stairing at birds and shoreline. Parking the boat, bank fishing or walking a island is not bad either. After years of catching countless numbers of fish its not hard to see how ones view of this great past time could change.

You could take up ballroom dancing. It should only be a few weeks and fishing will sound SUPER exciting

Sorry; that was my poor attempt at humor. Like others have posted, I like to try new areas or techniques to mix things up a bit. This is especially true when my preferred methods aren’t working very well.
