    LEM #12 .75hp
they have the big bite grinder feed gear
that won’t tend to mush meat feeding it to the cutter
leaves more moisture in the meat

I left our hunting group that had professional grade equipment but we did 20 or so deer and 12 hogs each hunting season.

I went with the LEM 1hp. I myself do 1-2 deer, 2 hogs and a beef a year. Im sure the .75 would have done it but over time I hope to recoup the cost of the upgrade by not over working a larger machine.

I like the LEM stuff and have a mixer, scale and tubs from LEM too.

I plan on buying a stuffer this year too. Good products IMHO.

Foot switch is a must if you plan on stuffing ssg. or ground bags.

I have a .35 HP LEM that has worked flawlessly for the last decade. I grind one or two deer every year and the son and son-in law use it for their deer also.

If you are considering some day getting an LEM meat mixer to hookup to your grinder, make sure you purchase a grinder large enough for your future mixer.

They make good products, I help some friends do hundreds of pounds of deer sausage every winter, they use LEM also.

Are the meat mixers that much advantages over tossing it around by hand? Won’t the paddles break down the texture before mixing in the added fat?

I also use a LEM 1hp. Great grinder, never have to force feed it. Also bought the LEM meat mixer, 50lb. This attaches to the grinder motor to mix. Takes out the hardest part of processing sausage…hand mixing! And does a better job of it. A friend has a cabelas stuffer with the motor attachment…never looking back to hand crank days!

Using the mixer takes a little practice to get it right. Make sure the equipment and meat is cold, and don’t overmix.

    Hummmm,

I’m looking very hard at the LEM products for about 3 years now.

    1hp, 3/4hp, 1/3hp???????

Some of you are leading me back to my “needed” side.

Some of you are leading me back to my “wanting” side.

And some of you are making me think that I should follow Tim Taylor.

by the way that is where I usually end up by nature anyway.
