Looks like I can plan some vacation for next year!! I did the Red Wing tournament as a co this year and it was a great experience. I can’t wait to do more.

I have always wondered what it would be like to be a co-angler in a tournament. It is something that I have always wanted to try, but I have heard some nightmare stories about getting paired up with a guy that basically doesn’t give a crap about you and tells you to sit in the back of the boat and don’t say a word. Is this a true testimony or is it a pretty rare event when it comes to fishing with the pro’s?

September on Bago, very interesting. Probably not going to be great weights or an easy bite, but should bring out the best of the best.

I have only done one as a co, but my experience was awesome. All the pros that I had contact with were very nice. I to had some reservations about going in as a co. I heard the horror stories also. While I’m sure there is some truth to that, it was simply not the case with me. If you do it I think you will have a great time.

It was a tough bite in Red Wing last year. I hope they do come back though, but going to new water is good for the league. Plus I will get to fish places I probably never would on my own.

It’s always a tough bite in red wing spawn into post spawn- that’s why it is such a credible stop for a tour.

12 or so mile run to the lake from trenton, assuming it is in boundaries.

Being as it’s in June, I can’t see why the lake won’t be part of boundries. Maybe even Canada waters.
Just guessing but the big girls should mostly be out of the river and swimming a muck out in the muck.

Personally, I have yet to hear about a co-angler in any circuit who had a bad experience.

I don’t think I would do well as a co-angler. I’d be more concerned with staying out of the way and not hindering the pro. And if I was a pro, I think I would hate having to “babysit” a co-angler or rely on them to net my fish.

That being said, I would love to do it once too. I bet it would be fun, regardless of my reservations.

I’ve had some AWESOME co’s both in the old league and in the few Tour events I’ve fished. And I can say I’ve got a lot of lasting friendships with them also. Sure some are going to make a small mistake here and there but you know for sure that their going to give you 100%. They are getting in the tournament as a co-angler in the first place to learn more. So it’s up to that Pro to help them as much as possible !!!! That’s one of the gratifying things of being the Pro and that at the end of the day to be able to say to yourself…I think I helped him or her to be a little better fisherman. I say go for it and I hope you can fish all 3 !!!!

Walk down the streets of St. Cloud and see if you meet any grumpy, surly guys. People are people, you will find mostly good but the bad ones will be sprinkled in wherever you go. Fishing is no different than life.
