The only good thing with Sears anymore is the return policy on their hand tools.

If you take back Craftsman tool you had better not say that you use it in a business. They won’t replace a tool if used commercially. Their tools only carry a lifetime warranty if used by a homeowner or whatever you want to call it. Sears tool warranty . Snap-on in my area is the only way to go. Has what you need on the truck and comes around every 2 weeks. They are expensive but we have all heard “you get what you pay for”

Foreign call centers save us money on the front end, but God help you if there is an issue.

As one of my favorite politicians liked to say, ” just follow the money ” ….. companies can hire customer service reps overseas for 1/5 or 1/6 of what they are paid in the US. While the math is simple, it is whether the hired reps can handle the calls is the key…

I don’t recall where any company that has benifited from lower wages, has passed those savings on to consumers.
They are just blowing smoke up our arses with that statement.

The bottom line is that money goes into the pockets of the company and their stockholders.

IMHO, in a free market we have competition. Unless business sectors are in collusion, which is a crime, they will do what they can to make more profit that they can then pass on to stockholders, executives and even the workers.

Who would buy stock in a company with a minute market share, just because their margins were good? A company like that will sink with just one hiccup.

People want to invest in companies with a large market share or even the leader in an industry. That comes from selling products.

I pick up Craftsman screwdrivers and pliers/side cutter, needle nose all the time at garage sales and walk them in the door of our Sears and leave with nice shiney tools.

When I was wrenching I owned all snap-on too.Long time ago for me.

    Exactly

And in the end, it still does not lower costs to the consumer.

A couple of years age some friends of mine bought a townhome and had laminate flooring put in before they moved in. Bought appliances at Sears and had them deliver and install them. Kids that brought them in scratched the floor all up sliding appliances in place. Owner of the local Sears tried to say it was like that. They almost had to go to court to get him to replace the floor they damaged. I did some business with him and he was a total
jack Needless to say he no longer owns the store.

Ever since the advent of the internet, not even the Sears catalog is worth looking at anymore.

Well I left out the part about the Victory Secret catalog I have been getting every 2 weeks because I got Michelle a gift card there once. That would have made the “joke” too long.
