    Howdy,

In the near future we’ll be driving from the East side of St. Paul to Escanaba, MI. I’m looking for suggestions as to the best route. Take Hwy 8 from Taylor’s Falls all the way across to Pembine? I-94 through Eau Claire all the way to Green Bay and then North up through Menominee?

    Thanks guys!

Depends on what you like. Hwy 8 will be allot of small towns with speed zones, Hwy 29 is a nice 4 land road but it has cross traffic. I enjoy both rides depending on my time frame for traveling.

If you are hauling anything of size behind you, I would take 29.

29 if gas or time matters. For sure 29 if hauling anything.
Only reason to take 8 would be the scenery.

If you’re going to hit the fall colors, and running time doesn’t matter…Hwy 8 across.

Go thru Stillwater and take 64. Once you’re east of New Richmond it is a great drive all the way to Hwy 53. Ther will be a few slow downs thru a couple little towns. I love that stretch of road. IMO its a prettier drive than 94 or 8. Once you get to Hwy 53, go north to 8 or south to 29(you can stay on 64 east of 53 but it gets a little goofy).
