Coming off an area lake where I did pretty good for crappie the other night, ran across a couple guys just heading out, at 9pm. We chatted a while and they showed me an underwater green light they use. Said it is absolutely unreal how well it works. Still have to start in the right area, but drop it down… and in about 15 – 20 minutes the fun begins.

I did good in 20-28′ of water, fishing submerged fish about 5 feet off the bottom. Almost had to go dead stick style vs any sort of casting. They said the program would be the same for them.

    Anyone ever try this?

Anyone have a recommendation on a good, reasonable light? They were using a green fluorescent one

Could be wrong but if I remember correctly that is illegal. I’ll try to find the regs quick.

Can lighted lures be used in Wisconsin?
Yes, lighted lures or lighted attractants may be used. Currently there are no restrictions on the use of lighted lures or attractants with the exception that sturgeon spearers are prohibited from using or possessing artificial lights to shine into the water 48 hours before and continuing through the open sturgeon spearing season.

Looks like you are good to go in wi- I had heard it was illegal in mn, thanks Tom! Tight lines!

If you have to ask, it’s probably illegal in MN.

Can you use dynamite and crude oil still in WI? What if I have a Minnesota license on the WI side of the river?
