Yes, 6 zones cost me $900 for parts. I did mine before I sod my new house, so I rented a small trencher. The unit they use after you have grass is $$$ to rent. Sprinkler warehouse.com is where I got all myb supplies but the 1″ line that I got at Mendards. I ran a 1″ from the main water inside the house to the back flow outside.

Several years ago, I did the do-it-yourself install through Pioneer Midwest (Osseo). They design, pull the pipe and supply everything to complete the project. They also teach you the hows and whys of install, operation and maintenance. OR they will do the complete install if you wish.

Sprinklers by design is another good one for full installs.

I did my own on my first house 10 years ago. I plotted my house and yard to scale on graph paper and sent it into toro. They give you supply lists and suggestion on how to lay out your zones. They want you to buy their products and all the fancy stuff but I just doctored it to what would suffice and rented a trencher and put it in. great learning experience for me (had never done anything like that on my own) and I saved a bunch of cash. I also knew when something wasn’t right and how to fix it. which saved me even more. I have to admit I did have my FIL help me plumb out to the back flow valve as I am not confident in my sodering skills.

    good luck.

My yard has 96 heads and 12 zones. Nope, I didn’t do it myself.
