I watched the game. I don’t know if the Vikings stink out loud or the Niners are just that good. Probably a little of both is what I saw. The battle for second in the north is going to be a dog fight.

First… the niners put up very little of a battle… and I wouldn’t judge their performance during preseason towards anything. They were able to play down to the vikes and judge their 2nd, 3rd, and hell… 10th string teams against us. And we still got demolished. GET RID OF PONDER… and THEN start building an offense!

When it was their 1st team against ours (minus AP) we were down by 7…… it is preseason folks

Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Doug Williams, Jay Schrader, Bart Starr, plenty of below average qbs have won a super bowl.

Not to mention you are comparing “average”.. aka NFL caliber QBs, to the likes of Ponder… who would likely barely scratch by as a backup in the CFL… But Leslie Frasier doesn’t like to give up on those players who kiss his

Ponder bad. Cassell worse. Good thing we have 28.

It won’t matter who is QB or running the ball if the O-line plays like they did in that Sunday night game….everyone of them got beat off the ball and bull-rushed and used bad…at that rate if AP doesn’t get hurt he won’t hit 1200 yds

We all thought the Vikes were going to suck last year, and Ponder looked terrible in the preseason and AP didn’t play…….and we had no WR’s and our defense had question marks, we had a rookie K.

If anyone should be worried it should be Green Bay. Worse offensive line (injuries) no proven back, WR’s no longer have veterans to keep them in line, Jordy’s still hurt, and they had one game of separation between them and the Vikes and Bears!!

And they play a division winners schedule!! Good luck!

Without Felton those first 3 games AP is going to have his work cut out for him.

Y’all keep wasting your breath (or keyboard strokes in this case I guess)
None of this matters worth a hill of beans.
The only important thing is, they’ll have a nice pretty new home for next season

    … WELL … MAYBE

With all of these great football minds, I did a quick search and saw that nobody predicted Joe Flacco and the Ravens would win the super bowl.

Did anyone know who Colin Kappersomething was until mid year last year?

That why the nfl is so fun, lots can change, very quickly and the year rarely ends the way we expect.

How does Frazier like to hold onto players, when hes only been the coach for the 2 years?? He’s not Childress… For all you that say get rid of Ponder, who you going to have replace him??? Cassel isn’t special unless Belichik is coaching him. There’s a reason the chiefs fans hated him…I’m glad we got him, because we needed a decent backup Webb showed us that in the playoff game… Our best bet for getting a great QB is to try and get Favre to get out of his deer stand and come play

Alright, I’m not the biggest Ponder fan in the world. I’d much rather see Cassel at the helm because frankly Ponder doesn’t have the arm to get things done and his brains have gone downhill. Cassel has developed a great relationship with the WR and TE we have already, He has Jennings, Patterson, Wright, Rudolph and even the Carlson (2nd string TE) is a great option. There is no excuse for not throwing the ball down the field, over throwing receivers, and making terrible decisions. Cassel proved in NE that he is at least an Average QB and he didn’t have a running back. Cassel did fine in KC but he only had 1 good target and a decent running back. I say give Cassel the opportunity with all the targets plus AP, all we need is an Average QB to not screw up and get the ball to our WR and TE’s who are all above average now.

The administration has too much of an obsession with Ponder. But with this said, let’s be honest Vikes fans. We always look awful in the preseason.

Ponder has 3, maybe 4 games to prove himself. Either way I’ll be glad when it comes time to keep Ponder or bring in backup BC this drama over him will be done.

If you don’t bleed The Purple and Gold, then you really are not a true Viking fan.
Sit back and watcher Ponder have best season of his young career.

The rest of you are just band wagon jumpers, get on now or just stay off!

As for me; I will be taking the High Road this season.

    Too true, Brian!

The TRUE life-long, bleed purple, Viking fan is the one that is constantly b|tching and complaining about the players screwing up, coaches poor decisions, and head offices’ dumb moves.

Cause if you ain’t complaining… you obviously haven’t been a fan for very long!
