If you use a transom electric alot, answer is YES. On my current rig, I find I use the Terrova / Ipilot in scenarios I used to use the Vantage in…BUT it still has it’s time and place. Used to have a Vector… I never missed not having to missed messing around loosening and tightening knobs, pushing release buttons and having it in my way when not deployed…Love the Vantage. PM sent.

Do you have a bow mount at all? I do not have a transom trolling motor so I can’t give a true opinion for one over the other. I have told myself I would be adding a vantage in the future. However I have been using my bow mount more and more and I love using the co-pilot from the back of my boat.

I can back troll with my big motor easy enough so I’m thinking my next upgrade would a bow mount with ipilot.

Vantage motors are great when they work, but are a pain in the when they don’t. I’ve had trouble with the last 2 i have had and it sure doesn’t come from overuse! My current one the lift motor went out in less than a year. Sure it was under warranty but still frustrating.

I wish Motorguide would come out with a similar product…I’d for sure give them a try!

After owning both, I’d rather have the Vantage.

It can be a pain to drop the Vector down in rough water.

I had to stand up and do it.
