Anyone know the legality for carrying a spring assisted (NOT SWITCHBLADE!) knife for hunting/fishing in IA/MN/IL? Blade length is not a problem, the one I am looking at is 3″.

They are perfectly legal in MN. I sell kershaw and crkt, and there is no issue with legality, no matter what somebody’s cousins brother in law said he heard that someone read on Facebook.

I have a springfield M&P model SWMP2BDS. I’ve had it for a long time now. Couldn’t tell you how many years over 5 for sure. Love it and it works great.
