Blame the snake or the owner?

Two young boys in northern New Brunswick are dead after a python, believed to have escaped from its cage at an exotic animal store, slithered through ventilation ducts into an upstairs apartment and killed them some time during the night, according to Campbellton, N.B., RCMP.

What began as a summer sleepover at a friend’s apartment turned tragic as police arrived shortly after 6:30 a.m. to find the boys, five and seven years old, dead. It is believed they were brothers, but RCMP would not confirm this. Some residents said the boys were killed as they were sleeping.

    Both!!!

The Owner for not having a Secure Enclosure!

The Snake, well I relate that to what happened thousands of years ago:
    Genesis 3:15 NIV
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

All snakes are evil. That’s all I got to say about this.

Do you blame a hunter when goes out, kills a deer and eats it? Nope, that’s how they do. Same with the snake. Owner is 100% guilty.

    Ssssnnnot the sssslithery ssssnakes fault…

It’s a python!! And it was hungry, sssssstupid.

Snake owners should have a better cage, (one a snake cannot out smart perhaps…) or forced to tape their ventilation ducts shut while the owners are sleeping and away for any period of time.

On a side note: I think there is something Inherently wrong with python owners.

Yes, any animal that kills a human needs to go. Especially a “domesticated” animal.

To each his own, but I never understood the allure of snakes and most other reptiles. Chameleons are pretty cool, but I’d get bored with them too.

Could a python be considered domesticated?

How would could we tell if it knew the meaning of “play dead”?

Back on track here a bit. I don’t know or even want to think how I would react if I as a parent found out my child was killed at a sleep over by a freak act like this.

The parents must be over whelmed with grief and non belief.

I agree BK, I can’t imagine anything worse than the loss of a child and for it to be like that…I always felt that python owners have them as part of an image thing more than a love of snakes, almost like a prop. I don’t get it.

    I thought that too.

Then I remembered about the snake in Hastings a number of years back. Tried to strangle a young adult. They figured the chicken feathers in the pillow set it off.

On the other hand a person might think the first kid would have made enough noise to wake the others. Even if it was only kicking.

    Very odd.

    This begs the question

Which is worst? (from a BK perspective)

    1. having the Sheriff called on ya

    2. Coley forgetting to bring the bait

    3. swimming snake trying to board the boat
