    Hey guys,

    Just checking into boats and I see smokercrafts are a LOT cheaper then a lund, crestliner, or alumnacraft. Just wondering reason is. ANyone knows please get back to me.

    One thing I’ve noticed is the lighter construction. Open the lid to the bait well and notice how absent the lid is of torsional stiffness. Step on that sucker and it’s not going to hold too much weight. Just noticed that at a boat show on one of their models.

    Also note the guage of the aluminum used in hull construction. Some boats like Tracker will go .090 5052 whereas Lund may use a .120 – heavier, perhaps more durable.

    You get what you pay for when it comes to boats in both performance and construction.

    Quality does not come cheap.

    I won’t hurt anyones feeling here about singling out any specific brands for their short comings.

    I bought my boat for performance in fishability and rideability.

    As an example, a used Warrior is a better buy than a lot of current years brand new models. Warrior owners are a very loyal bunch of folks and most started out buying used.
