Leadcore spooling

I have a line counter I want to have spooled with lead core. Can anybody recommend a shop that spools, that will know how to make the counter accurate? I will need backing also.

Counter will be most accurate when the spool is full. Put a bunch of mono backing on, then tie onto your leadcore to fill up the spool. Cabelas or other box stores and local baitshops will spool your reels, but that is typically done when you purchase the line and reel there. It may be an option to bring it to them and have them spool it for a fee.

It’s also something you can easily do yourself in a few minutes.

Go with Suffix 832 18lb leadcore. Great stuff and it often comes in handy being able to get this line down deeper than other leadcore.

Thanks I may try Suffix. My main concerns are…

1) the person spooling knows the proper knot joining the backing & the lead core.

2) The line counter is fairly accurate as far as line out goes.

Just to be above board, I don’t know how to do this. I’m looking for a shop that has employees that will know how to do it. Thorn Brothers maybe?

You can stop in to Joe’s if you are in the area. We have been setting up quite a few lead core set ups as of late. I will be there Friday evening, and would be more then happy to help you out.
