I mistakenly used Yamalube watercraft performance instead of marine performance in my Yamaha outboard. Is this going to cause harm to my engine? Thx ken

As long as it was 2 stroke oil for a 2 stroke engine or 4 stroke oil for a 4 stroke engine you will be fine.

Looking over the web site it looks like they make 2 stroke and 4 stroke oils, I would suspect that wave runner or outboard (2 stroke to 2 stroke and 4 stroke to 4 stroke) are most likely the same oil.

It is pretty common the see 2 stroke rated TCW3 meaning it can be a universal application.

If you put 2 stroke oil in a 2 stoke or 4 stroke in a 4 stroke you will be fine.

On the other hand if it was 2 stroke into a 4 stroke crankcase I would change the oil ASAP.

That part I did do right. I didn’t even realize they made different kinds for outboards vs. watercraft .

That makes me feel better since I looked on Yamaha site and the watercraft brand said not recommended for outboards.

I think that is the other way around. Not recommended to use OB for PWC.
