I am heading to Grand Marais next week.
Looking for a back up to Superior for blow days/ travel for warm water.
I think I am going to bank on 2 island lake from my research. just wondering if anyone has info on it such as tactics, baits and such. Thank you, Mark.

There is alot of structure to check out! Walleyes were small. Didn’t fish Smallies. I was having fun until I hit something just under the surface and damaged my prop. Check out Devil Track, more walleyes and a little closer.

Be careful on Two Island as it has a lot of floating logs that seem to move around, some just under the surface, and a lot of shallow rocks. Best for smallmouth as the walleye run small.

East or West Twin, Devil Track or Elbow are the best walleye lakes closest to GM for me. Check with Buck’s Hardware for the latest report, they’re usually good about letting you know what’s going where. Have fun and good luck.

I don’t know what kind of boat you have, but Two Island isn’t great for big boats. Lots of shallow rocks right out from the launch that can ruin a trip. The launch isn’t very deep either. We used to camp there a lot. Smallies can be fun around the big boulders, but never got into a lot of walleyes.
    Good luck!
