Had a half day trip on the Bay with Chris Beeksma of Get bit guide service. Had a great trip and caught some quality smallies. Chris did a great job with 2 rookie wacky wormers. The bite was consistent through out the morning. Fished back in one of the sloughs. Anywhere from 2-10 feet of water. Always wanted to try this and we were not disappointed. Would highly recommend a trip with Chris. Thanks for a great morning. We will be back. Will try and post some pictures later. Might need some help BK.

What kind of average size are you seeing…and what do they peak at?

On average they were 16-20 inch fish. The 20 inch looked like a football. Ran about 3 pounds. We were dealing with a seiche most of the morning either coming in or going out. Was different fishing on the big water. Always wanted to try it. Can check that off the bucket list. Now to try some laker or salmon fishing on the big water.

Did you weigh them? A 20″ smallie should be 4lbs. or so.
Sounds like you had a blast. They sure are fun to catch. never quit fighting.

Didn’t weigh it. I’m working on pictures from my buddy. My camera quit working of course.
