I am kind of in a quantdry about fishing rods that say, “MedAction” , ” Fast Action ” etc for exactly what it means.
I have thought it means like the flex or stiffness in a rod but don’t really understand this wording.
Doing a lot of spincasting for bass, so far I seem to enjoy using a 7′ rod. The ones I have I wonder if I could get a bit more distance and accuracy with one with more ” whip ” or flex to it.
I use Sussex 832, 20′ test. Maybe a lighter line would help too.
All this new stuff and wording kind has left this old geezer in the dark.
    Thanks for reading,

the “speed” of the rod relates to where it bends basically. A moderate action bends from the middle of the blank all the way to the tip. An extra fast action is mostly backbone with the flex being only in the tip section. That’s the very basic answer.
