I’m starting to feel like this is a daily ritual to post questions Buy a boat and then comes the “What next?”

After getting help choosing a battery many people recommended getting a charger. Today in the mail I get a deal from Cabela’s that says the Advanced Angler onboard chargers are 20% off. Not so online but that’s for another thread. I’m looking at 2 bank options

Today’s question – are these any good? Do they last? reviews seem a bit mixed

I believe they are made by Promariner which has the Pro Sport onboard chargers….I recommend Minn Kota

In the Outdoor Gear Forum, there’s a banner at the top to http://jollyannsales.com/ and Ben Garver. Ben’s a good source for pricing and in the case of Minnkota chargers, rebates.

    Good luck!!

Don’t know if they still use the same manufacturer. But I have one installed in my old boat in the early 90’s that still works flawless. Make sure it’s not a Schumacher, my new boat came with one and it sounds like a jet warming up. I removed it the first time I plugged it in and installed a Minn- Kota and like it very well so far. With sales and rebates they are reasonable. They get good reviews every were I looked.

Had one on my last boat. Had it for 6 years no problems. New boat came with Minnkota.

Recently fried an Advanced Angler charger. Worked well the 2-3 seasons I had it installed. Switching it out to a Minnkota.

I just bought one the other day and installed it. It’s charging right now. Initially, looks like a great product and I’m happy with it. I have the 2 bank 12amp.

I’ve owned both Minnkota and the Cabelas brand which I have on my current boat. It’s worked well going on 6 years now.

I had 2 cabelas chargers fail then I went to Minn kotta. Best warranty in the business but haven’t had to use it since I have had them. Have been running them the last 6 years with no issues what so ever.

Have had the Cabelas 3 bank pro charger on my boat for 4 or 5 years now without any issues.

Thanks for the referral. I think I’m going to get a Minnkota based on the replies. Will likely give Ben a heads up too. Bad news, they were running a rebate from January right up until July 1st. If it weren’t for bad timing, I wouldn’t have any at all
