Thinking about heading up to the Angle in Sept. and chasing some walleyes. Had someone tell me that they think Sept. is too late and that by then the walleyes will be scattered. When I check Angle websites, they tell me Sept. is best.

Also, has anyone stayed at Flag Island Resort or Sportman’s Oak Island Lodge? It looks to me like a guy would at least have some cover behind the islands and a few options if the wind came up. Can anybody confirm, or is that just wishful thinking? It would be a long way to travel to play cards.

I’m having a difficult time finding much info. regarding fishing the Angle so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Both are very nice places, I’ve stayed at both. September fishing is very good, walleyes have left the reefs and its shoreline points orientated. Always a place to fish, 14,000 islands, you may have to cross a few bays with wind but almost always doable.
