I was booked to go on a canadian fishing trip to Route Lake July 27-Aug 3. As I said WAS booked. NOW I’m booked for surgery on July 29. I have a bulged disk in my neck and surgery is my only option. I’ve been in pain for 5 weeks now, so I guess if this will fix it then there’s no choice. Has anyone had a cervical disc fixed? What can I look forward to? Now only if I could get my money back from fishing trip. Mower

My wife had a similar problem a couple of years ago. And she went thru several rounds of try this, try this, and they finally decided to do the surgery. She was in lots of pain until the surgery. Immediately after coming out of the surgery she could tell the difference. She had two vertebae fused with a steel plate. The only regret was that she didn’t have the surgery sooner.

    Best of luck.

Will the resort let you move the date until next summer?

Best of luck. My neighbor had two fused. He was back up and at it sooner than I expected.

I had the surgery a couple years ago. Youll be surprised at the amount of pain that is gone the next day.

I have two that were herniated in my neck and turned down surgery for relief by a chiroprator.6 years ago and doing fine. See the chiropractor twice a month. Check into all the options… Once they cut …no turning back. My pain and nunbness took 6 months to clear-up.

If it were me, I’d do this. Forgo the surgery and give it a try. I’ve got a bulging disk as well and only go to the chiropractor when I feel I need to. I would only consider surgery if he (chiropractor) can’t help.

Make it three votes for the Chiro if you have not tried that route. I have one in my back that the Chiro has helped me with for years. A year and a half ago I added acupuncture to the treatment. Relief was much quicker. A lot of doctors are quick to go to the knife. Make sure it’s your only option.

I’ve seen the Chiro and he can relief some pain. But I’m starting to lose some muscle tone and strength in my arm. So by looking at the MRI it looks like surgery is the way to go. Yes, it looks like the resort will give us a year hold, So we don’t lose any money there. Just thought, I also have a WI. bear tag for this fall. Waited 4 years for that and now I’ll probably loose that. Unless I buy a crossbow and can shoot it with a neck brace on. I’m not sure the Doc will go with that, but I can’t think of any other way to use the tag.
