We have a couple cherry trees and a mulberry tree in our yard and every year the birds pick them clean as fast as they ripen. This year they haven’t touched them and the branches are just loaded with fruit. I don’t like either one so its a curiosity question more than anything but with all the rain this year could it have affected the taste to turn the birds off of them.

The birds know when they are ripe I have a serviceberry tree in my back yard and there weren’t any birds in it all spring. Yesterday they started taking numbers for a perch. Another couple days it will be picked clean.

Pit a few cherries and look them over inside. One year our young cherry tree had a small c shaped worm inside every cherry. I hated that as I love sour cherries. Birds probably don’t care though.

Sounds lucky. The Robins are eating my cherries now.
