Those things just plain catch fish…Boated 5 ‘eyes in about an hour last night – all of them were suspended just off the weedline.

“The Men” (my boys, ages 12 & 9) and I took my brother in law on his first MN fishin’ mission. He’s from Mexico and we felt that a trip to MN would be incomplete without a little time in the boat. He landed his first (and second) walleyes. A couple of eaters.

    Grant caught a chunky 22″, I brought in a 25″ and Jacob landed a 26 1/2″.

    Life is good.

Seemingly no color preference as we were each using different colors and each caught decent fish. Blue/white, black/silver and firetiger.

It was interesting how they were suspending off of the weedline. I trolled adjacent to the break – trying to keep the boat in around 15-16 FOW, but we hit fish when we’d get out-of-shape and end up deeper. The 25″ hit over about 38 FOW.

I don’t need no stinkin’ lead core! I’ve got’s Scatter Minnows!

Nice work and great observations! Very cool to hear you were doing that during daylight hours. Trolling longer minnow-baits for suspended fish like this is a favorite night-tactic for clear waters. Congrats on the successes, and nice fish!
