    What’s this all about?

    From Bob Pries:

    Hello IDO,

Most people of the Hunting Side of IDO, knew and followed my weekly updates following the story of my little buddy Kaden, who was battling a form of bone cancer. This past December 22, Kaden squeezed his mom’s hand and let go. Friends and family helped out Kaden’s family in their battle from beginning to end and still to this day, we all try to help them in there new life without Kaden. Ever since the Tjossems could they have been looking for ways to help other families who are fighting the disease of cancer as well. Logan (Kaden’s dad) and I are both signed up to participate in this event on August 24th. Please read on.

I am busy training for a 25.5 mile hike in one day. Yes, you read that correctly! Over the next three months, through rain or shine, I’ll be hiking many, many miles-and steep miles at that – to prepare for the Ultimate Hike benefiting CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.

Ultimate Hike is an endurance training program that benefits CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. I will be taking on this extreme endeavor to challenge myself both physically and mentally. But I’ve set my sights higher than just training to hike 25.5 miles. I also aim to raise at least $2,500 to help find a cure for children’s cancer, the number one cause of death by disease in children.

Nearly 13,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer each year. 1 out of every 5 of those children diagnosed with cancer does not survive. 3 out of 5 children who are diagnosed suffer devastating, long-term side effects.

This is where, I’m hoping, you come in. Though I can do the training, I need your help to reach my fundraising goal. Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click “Donate” below to make a donation that will be credited to my fundraising. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated!

You can also join the fight against children’s cancer by forwarding this email along to your contacts! You never know who might be able to help and every gift, no matter the size, is another step closer to a cure.

Thank you in advance for your support of my efforts through Ultimate Hike! With your help, I can hike 25.5 miles to give many others a lifetime of hope!

Click on my Link to help out. I really, really appreciate it. If anyone else want’s to walk you can join our team as well. You will need to raise the $2500.00 as well if you sign up to participate. We’d love to have you.

I put up a challenge. If the members of Ido could raise $500. by July 1st, I would shave my head.

The GREAT folks of Ido doubled that and then some!

I’m inviting all that are interested to watch via the comfort of your home to tune in tonight at 6:55 pm for the shaving at His and Hers Barber in Lakeland.

The fallen hair will be collected and made into hair jigs by the famous Bucktail Wayne. These will be sold at $10.00 each with 100% of the $10.00 going to CureSearch.

There isn’t any “overhead”. 100% goes to CureSearch childrens cancer research.

Although Bob has reached his goal, there isn’t any need to stop with the donations. Each and every penny is appreciated by all of us involve it finding the cure for cancer.

Thanks for donating and taking the time to read this.

Since the Barber Shop is technically closed, I’m not at liberty to say you will be allowed to enter. Since it has a large glass window store front, there’s nothing to say you couldn’t window watch.

I’m not sure of Lakeland public drinking ordinances or if your last window peeping warrant is still active. whistling:

Darn. Would have been nice to be there. Got nothing else to do. I was ready to fully support my buddy. Hopefully cut a lock for the camera. My one chance to be on IDO television. Dang it!

You can shave all of my hair off, but you can’t take the BK out of BK!!

A Very BIG Thank you to….

James Holst for another whopper of a donation.
Leo the owner of the Bungalow Inn and Jeff the bar tender once they heard about Bob’s hike…and last but not least…

Bob the Barber from the Village Barber Shop for not only donating the hair cut/shave fee to CureSearch but also staying open an hour later to do the deed!

    To many folks to thank!!

But most of all, I want to thank the Favorite Wife, Deb for jumping on the band wagon and supporting the cause.

    Love you Deb!

Now where did I put that light bulb?
