It maybe sounds like a short somewhere in the ignition. Maybe a wire that sometimes touchs and sometimes doesn’t. These are not fun to trace out. Relaxing day in the garage with a beer.
My thoughts but others may know a lot more.

That’s a pretty common problem on tillers. It’s the safety neutral switch. I think dad has replaced the switch on his f90 3 or 4 times and a buddies 90 Jonson has gone through 2 or 3. Oh yeah my uncle has had the same problem with his switch on his f75. It’s a cheap fix but will most likely happen again.

How hard of a job is it? So it’s in the switch where the key is?

That I’m not sure of? Everybody I know that’s had it replaced brought it somewhere. I’m almost positive it was under a hundred to have it replaced.

Can you choke it out? That’s what I do with my kicker.

Sounds like a loose connection in the ignition. Bring it on over.

Replaced the ignition switch and wiring harness and it still doing it. Won’t turn off with the safety teather either. And no I can’t choke it out….
Have yet to try the safety kill switch….
